Isaiah 49

Do you enjoy Fasting as a regular discipline in your life? It's amazing how something so small as sacrificing a meal can seem so brutal, considering the one who sacrificed His own precious blood for us at the brutal hands of the Roman legion.

If fasting seems tough, consider this. Fasting is my cross to bear the rest of my life,  everyday, 8am-4pm.  If you see me put food in my mouth during those hours,  you're seeing me sin and you should call me on it. I'm not bragging,  there is no bragging when Christ puts a cross on you. There is just obedience. Or not. And on this,  I've been more disobedient over the past couple years since he dropped it on me.

See I have a LOT of flesh to conquer daily. Some bad addictions. A mind that needs careful discipline or it gets....off. For God to truly use us in the Power of His Spirit, we have to crucify the flesh. And no way is better than fasting. Literally telling your body NO,  this is a sacrifice to God. It's hard to get too far off the path if you can't even eat out of reverence to God.

When I was obedient to the fasting God convicted me on, the BnG went from 60 guys to over 200 almost immediately. Crazy things happened in the ministry, my finances, and other areas of my life. Then I stopped for two years, and the club has stayed the same size. That's heavy as a leader. Knowing I'm not being faithful affects the lives of others in unseen ways.

And for you, what is God calling you to? What is your disobedience costing others?

When I first had the impression during prayer that God wanted me to fast 8-4 the rest of my life, I told Him I would need a scripture on that one. I couldn't believe it.  It was too heavy. Immediately He told me to read Isaiah 49 which talks about Him feeding us in desolate places. Immediately I broke out weeping. It's hard to run from God. It's a hard life running from God.

In that same scripture He told me that through Disciple we would be rebuilding desolate places in your lives. To restore the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages; Saying to those who are bound, 'Go forth,' To those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves.'  So what desolate area are we rebuilding in your life here in Disciple?

So are you enjoying fasting? God is trying to give you a gift here. Take it, don't run.

If you choose this fast, let me tell you what God has laid on my heart. If you're fasting get caught up in the Spirit of it, not the technicalities. 2 Corinthians 3:6, "Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." If you wake up a little late and dont finish breakfast until 815am don't beat yourself up. If you accidentally pop candy in your mouth before you think about it,  don't just end the fasting, just spit it out. God put on my heart that this is a water only fasting, but with prayer He has allowed me my protein shakes when working out. But He doesn't allow me my favorite liquids like Red Bull or coffee. Work out in prayer before God what He is telling you to do.

If this isn't the exact fasting for you, work out with God in your heart a schedule of fasting so it's a part of your life.  I know men who are fasting on Mondays, or skip lunch on Sundays. Whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord.

Isaiah 49 NASB

Thus says the Lord , "In a favorable time I have answered You, And in a day of salvation I have helped You; And I will keep You and give You for a covenant of the people, To restore the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritages; Saying to those who are bound, 'Go forth,' To those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves.' Along the roads they will feed, And their pasture will be on all bare heights. "They will not hunger or thirst, Nor will the scorching heat or sun strike them down; For He who has compassion on them will lead them And will guide them to springs of water.

Surely, thus says the Lord , "Even the captives of the mighty man will be taken away, And the prey of the tyrant will be rescued; For I will contend with the one who contends with you, And I will save your sons. "I will feed your oppressors with their own flesh, And they will become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine; And all flesh will know that I, the L ord , am your Savior And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."

The Four Legs: WORD & PRAYER TIME, WORSHIP MUSIC TIME, FASTING, GIVING

The bowl of milk for the cat is under the table. Its time we all sit at the table and start eating meat. 1 Cor 3:2 I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren't yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready.

Its time to start operating the deep stuff in the Word, not just the basic stuff. Heb 6:1 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God.

Time to move on together men. Assumably you are here because you asked to be sent forth as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Is 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Its time to realize that milk drinkers argue about obedience to the Word of God, sons and servants get up and DO IT. James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

If you are here, you are a servant. A son. It might not take “all that” for some other Christian. But you are not some “other Christian”. You are here to proclaim the most holy Gospel of Jesus Christ. Eph 6:19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.

The bowl of milk for the cat is under the table. Its time we all sit at the table and start eating meat. But there can be no meat on the table if the table isn’t stable. So lets get the legs on the table.

Sturdy tables have four legs. The four legs that will support you are WORD & PRAYER TIME, WORSHIP MUSIC TIME, FASTING, GIVING

If you aren’t doing these four things then you have not put yourself in a place where you will understand what is about to happen in this club, and you will be on the outside looking in, arguing about words and not getting what God is doing. You are going to miss something BIG God is about to do. Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

What are some of the deeper things of God? Laying on of hands, casting out demons, breaking generational curses, successfully praying healing over others, receiving a Word of Knowledge supernaturally from God about a situation, and more.

Our table must be stable if we are going to put big pieces of meat on it. The foundation of your heart needs to be stable before we can grow into the deeper things of God together. We can’t have the table rocking like a cheap diner table with a bad leg, spilling coffee all over, and letting the meat hit the floor. If your meat starts hitting the floor, and you aren’t getting your meat, then check the legs of your table. WORD & PRAYER TIME, WORSHIP MUSIC TIME, FASTING, GIVING. So lets hit the basics so you can get studied up on what God is about to do.

Prospects Perspective of the Midwest Gathering

I want to take a minute to talk on the Midwest Gathering this past weekend.
It started as a few of getting together with our Ma and inviting folks from the neighboring states to come and fellowship for a day or two and grew into something I never thought imaginable.
I have loved DCMC from the day I found out what it was and watched it grow into a burgeoning group of men with a passion for Christ in their core.
This weekend, which was by no stretch my first, and I can guarantee will be nowhere near my last, was not just an opportunity to see my brothers and bros and share some time together, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but was significantly more on many levels.
But, I want to take you to another side of the club. Anyone who has spent a week end with these folks can tell you that they are the real deal. Not just in ready to ride at a moments notice or travelling to see their brothers and bros way, but there is another side to this club.
In between the Hula hooping, scorpion lollipops, nerf guns, snow angels, and airsoft antics…the real side of DCMC comes out!
These men of God will drop EVERYTHING at a moments notice to pray with you for whatever you need! They will talk with you openly about their own trials and struggles! They will ask you to keep them in prayer! They will call or text you at any hour if they need an ear, and will take your text or call at any hour if you have a need!
Out of the spotlight and away from the crowds I watched men of God pray with a worker in the middle of Wal-Mart and bring her to tears, clothe a homeless man on the street in the cold and fill his little cup with money, lay hands on each other and pray for healing and RECEIVE IT, cry when they hugged because they hadn’t seen each other for a while and ministered to each others spirit, bring some joy to a few workers in at a very busy pizza joint while making an order for 30 pizzas of our own and lighten the mood with levity, engulf a waitress and sing Jesus loves me in the middle of the restaurant, stop making snow angels to pray with a neighbor of the church and who knows what else I didn’t see!
DCMC changes lives! DCMC changes lives on so many levels it’s not even funny! DCMC changes lives when you don’t realize it’s happening! DCMC changes lives that will remain changed long after the weekend has ended and everyone has gone home!
I love this club more than some of you may ever know and I know many feel the same way. It has changed my life and made me a better man. I cried today when my brothers and bros left, but I know Kingdom work was done this weekend and life’s were transformed! I am my brothers keeper! (P.S. Disciple Warhammer…THAT is the kind of club this is!) GOD IS GREAT 888

Men of God Give

Men of God Give

Disclaimer: Im not asking you to give to me. But the Bible does ask you to give to your church, your pastor, the needy, your local food bank.

Acts 20: 35 We must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

There are whole chapters of the Bible are dedicated to giving like 2 Corinthians 8 and 9. A well known except from them is chapter 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Not giving is robbing God according to Mal 3:7-8 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.  “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ 8“Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’  “In tithes and offerings.   Ever asked yourself what the first step to returning to God is? I think that scripture makes it clear.

Now some argue that tithing is the law. But tithing predates the law by 600 years. Abraham tithes inGenesis 14:11-24, and Jacob his grandson tithes in Genesis 28:20-22. There was no law back then, it was just something they did

Giving is the basis of really popular scriptures quotes all the time, like Phil 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me , Or how about Phil 4:19 And my God will supply [o]all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.    Check the context, they are both in a passage about giving to the man of God. Paul writes in Phil 4:17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.

That’s right, profit to your account, an acceptable sacrifice pleasing to God when you give.

More importantly, giving is the first step to understanding the deep riches of Word of God. In Luke 16 we find The Parable of the Unrighteous Steward. This parable is about giving. Luke 16:10 He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. 11"Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? 12"And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?

That’s right, giving is the key to unlocking true riches, and I don’t believe the true riches here are money, but understanding the deep things of the Word.

Don’t be an unrighteous steward. Don’t “Tip” god like you tip a waitress. Be a sower, be a giver.

The church does good things for people, but it doesn’t get light bill, or its building where people can come and be set free, for free. Mal 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house.

Men of God Working Out

Why am I always after the men of disciple to be working out? Is it because I personally think its a good idea? Is it because I want disciples to be big strong muscular men who grab the attention and respect of other motorcycle club members? These things may sound good, but they're not anything to do with the reason I'm asking you to work out.

The reason I work out, and the reason I am exhorting you to work out is simply this: When I ask God, I hear him say that you should.

For a couple years now when I pray and ask God what I'm supposed to be doing he's been telling me to work out a half hour a day. I have been disobedient in that. Also when I asked him what I'm supposed to be teaching you, he tells me to teach you physical discipline.  I would not be doing my job if I didn't.

I have been blessed to mentor under several very serious man of God. Men who pastor large churches, TV ministries, men whose wives are serious women of God, whose families and children are godly examples. The kind of men who lay hands on the sick and you see them healed, the kind of man who cast out demons. The kind of men who when they speak there is no question that the Holy Spirit is speaking through them. And without fail those men are engaged in physical discipline. Serious physical discipline. They've taught me what the Word says, and what common sense says about being a man of God. And a portion of that is pushing some weight around or getting some cardio.

I'm going to keep after you about it. Be healthy in your spirit, soul and body. Be disciplined, be serious and sober minded. Be manly. Be a man of God.

1 Tim 4:8  For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Quit Wasting Time on Worldly Music

Worship is important to God. If you read any description of Heaven out of the book of Revelations, it describes constant worship going on around the throne. It is during worship that we become close to God, that our spirit communes with His Spirit. It's a vital part of centering ourselves. Really.

As a musician who's written and recorded a lot of music, I feel successful when I can make you feel the same spirit I was feeling when I wrote the song. If I was depressed, & I write the right kind of song I can make you feel depressed. Nine Inch Nails. If I was angry, I could get you to feel the same kind of anger. Rage Against the Machine. If I was in lust, I could get you to feel lost. Girls girls girls Motley Crue. when the Bible talks about discerning spirits, it's important to discern the spirits on the music you're listening to. It's a spirit, but is it the Holy Spirit?

When we listen to praise and worship music, the spirit that we communicate with is not lust, hate, anger, greed or anything else from the enemy, it's the influence of God in our lives, quietly rearranging our heart, and creating a new heart. The difference between wandering around reciting Tom Petty lyrics in your head, and reciting lyrics that say things like holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come, is not just some cerebral existential idea. It's the difference between involving yourself in becoming part of a lost world, and involving yourself in what's going on around the throne of God right now.

People often ask me how to hear the voice of God. It's simple, cut off the other voices that you're been listening to. Music is certainly one of them. We think of the lyrics, but it's more important the spirit that you're communing with. Listening to praise and worship music cleanses out the junk that was left behind, like dissolving the bad fuel ethanol fuel sludge out of your carburetor. When we stop reciting lyrics that come from spirits of lust and depression, we are open to hearing what the Holy Spirit is trying to say to us. When we suppress the voice of the demon on our shoulder trying to get us to do bad things, we can begin to hear the voice of the angel on the other shoulder speaking the love of God into us.

People tell me all the time that you can be a Christian and listen to secular music. I don't debate that. You can be a Christian and go to strip clubs too. I don't want to be the kind of Christian that barely squeaks into the Pearly Gates as they close, with the smell of fire on my clothes. I want to be the kind of Christian that leads a triumphant army up to the pearly gates and they throw them open wide and tell me well done good and faithful son. Who are you trying to be?

It comes down to do you want to waste time listening to things that don't strengthen you as a warrior of God, or do you want to spend time doing what Paul calls sowing to the Spirit? He says one of them will reap decay and destruction, and one eternal life. If you're dead set on being a truly spiritual man of God, full of the Holy Spirit and power, I don't see there being much of a debate here. If you want to live in the blindness of the world and the futility if their thinking be my guest. Or Satan's guest maybe. It's no skin off my teeth.

So let's break down what praise and worship music is. As a musician and a praise and worship leader, I've heard a lot of debate on these terms. Some say praise worse music is fast music, and worship music is slow music. The way I see it, praise worship is music that is talking about what God has done in your life and what you're excited about as a Christian that you're thanking Him for. An example might be the song "I'm Trading My Sorrows" . Worship music is music talking directly to God, about his attributes, music that says things like worthy is the Lamb, holy holy holy. An example might be "Here I Am to Worship", or "How Great is Our God". For the purposes of entering into the throne room and spending time with your father, I feel worship music is highly important, because it echoes the same things that the Bible says are being said around the throne of God right now.

Something I hear from people is, well that's not my kind of music. I like rap, or metal, or country. My response is I guarantee you I can find praise and worship music in any genre. In fact I have 32gb of such music. But I still challenge this as an immature response. Who cares what genre of music it is if it builds you up in your faith and brings you closer to God? The point is that you're doing it. Not that it tickles your flesh a certain way, and the musician wears the same kind of hat that you do.

I practice what I preach on this. Years ago I promised God I would not listen to secular music anymore, because that's what he asked me to do. It's made a massive difference in Who I am as a man, and in my walk as a Christian. I have a little $10 mp3 device that I plug into my cigarette lighter that broadcasts on an FM channel, so that whenever I turn my car on 8gb of praise and worship music of my choosing is automatically coming through the speakers. This way I don't have to go through any hoops of plugging my phone in or whatever, it's automatically on when I get in the car. It helps me to enter into a worshipful state, and it changes my focus without even trying.

I see worshiping God as one of the four legs of a man of God, daily word time, daily prayer time, a regular schedule of fasting, and praise and worship music. I encourage you to pray about whether God wants you to make a choice to avoid the demonic spirits attached to most worldly music, and invest in time with the Holy Spirit through praise and worship.

Pray For Your Leaders

Everyone keeps asking how they can pray for me. I've always said I've run out of things to pray for because I've received them all. So in the spirit of 1 Chronicles 4:10, I'm enlarging my borders. If you want to pray with me,  here is what you can pray.

1. An epically strong marriage.

2. Family. Defined as people in our lives enough such that we could be without the kids for a week or something. Or at least a weekend. I would love my wife to be able to travel with me.

3. That I be humble, patient and wise, full of the Holy Ghost and power, flowing in the gifts like an Apostle. That I become obedient to what God has asked, that I fast from food from 8am to 4pm every day. So, obedience.

4. A Street Glide Disciple Show Bike. I'm a Scot so I've never wanted to spend the money on a Harley. Then I rode them all last year, they were nice. My bike would never take me to California let alone Daytona. I'm conserving it so it won't die prematurely. Actually that's my wife's bike, mine is officially dead. But I long to ride rather than fly. It needs to make financial sense and currently it doesn't. I would never pick a bike over my kids.

5. A $2M business. Last year we did $600k. This would free my wife to quit her job and free me to travel for the club more. It will take diligence and hard work, but mostly revelation on what to put my hand on. And diligence. I've been lazy.

6. Finally and most importantly: Souls! That people get saved, lives get changed,  marriages get healed, sickness and diseases get cured, people quit drugs, and men become giants. Just because they encountered Disciple.

Now it's posted, so when we see it happen, we can glorify the one who made it happen.

5 TIPS FOR CALLING FULL PATCH MEMBERS

Listen up, Supporters, Prospects and Hangarounds: This is a public service announcement from your National Vice President. When you are making calls to full patch members here are some great things to keep in mind.

1) We don't have your number. It is helpful to send a text before you call with your Name, Rank, and State, asking when a good time to call would be.

2) If you reach our voicemail, Leave a message! Be sure to include all the info from Tip #1!

3) Start with the newer patches first. Congratulate them on earning their patch! I'd recommend starting with the men who have patched up in neighboring states. Doing so will help you with tip #4.

4) Be prepared! This old Boy Scout Motto applies to the MC world too. Have some questions in mind that you want to ask them. We expect you to have a purpose for the call, we're not here just to make small talk--that happens after relationships are built. Here are a few suggested questions that you can be asking:

-What were some of the challenges you faced when you were a prospect?
-What areas of your life have you seen God working in since joining Disciple?
-What can I do to help ensure that the Founding Principles of Disciple stay intact?
-What has been your favorite trip or event with Disciple?
-What is one rule of MC Protocol that you had to learn the hard way?
-What are some good conversation starters I can use to help build relationships with 1%ers?
-How can I be praying for you this year?

As full patch members it is our goal to answer questions that should help you determine whether or not Disciple is right for you, and to help you learn history about the club and get to know other full patch members. Expect us to ask you questions like
"Why do you want to become a Disciple?"
"What does Brotherhood mean to you?"
"How much time have you spent around 1%ers?"
"How have you been caring for the brothers around you?"

We may ask you some trivia questions about the club, so do your homework BEFORE you start making calls.

5) Listen. There will be time for sharing your entire life story during Disciple Weekends. Full Patch members are taking time out of their day for YOUR benefit, so use their time wisely and let them do the teaching.

We want to help you become a crucial member in your charter. We want you to be building deep relationships with the men you will one day call "Brother." Your job as a Supporter, Hangaround, and Prospect is to learn all you can about the Club so that you can teach the next guy--it's a Disciple Cycle. We build on each other and if one guy doesn't have a solid foundation before he reaches his Full Patch, he's not going to be able to hold the rest of his new brothers up.

Again, these are just a few guidelines to help you navigate on your road to becoming a Disciple. It is my sincere desire to be able to call all of you Brother for the rest of our lives. Many have started this journey, but it takes a true Disciple to be a Brother for a Lifetime.

Matthew 13: 8-9 Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears,a let him hear.”

The Man Makes the Patch

The man makes the patch,  the patch doesn't make the man. I don't talk to a prospect any differently than I talk to a full patch.

If you are a supporter, hangaround or Prospect you are still here to Disciple men. You still need to stand up if you see bad behavior or conversation from Disciples.

I remember at the first USA run shortly after we changes the bylaws to disallow smoking in the cut, I was smoking a cigarette. Burns and Rojo came up to me and told me I had to put it out or take off my cut. I can't remember if they were hangaround or supporter at the time,  but I do remember I was national president. They were respectful,  but they discipled me.

Prospecting is about learning protocol. It's about showing and being true who you are. It's about learning to serve, because brothers will serve each other all their lives. It's not about being a wimp,  or pretending to be a nice quiet guy who never says anything.

Being a supporter doesn't mean you don't have a voice. It does mean learning to carefully and respectfully say truth,  but then it's incumbent upon us as Christian ministers to do that at all times to all people. Don't ever be amazed, afraid or overwhelmed by a piece of cotton sewed on a vest. It's the man who makes the patch,  not the patch who makes the man.

Sewing Nets Together

This year we must spend as much time reaching out to Christian ministries as much as we do the secular clubs. We must be calling them and building the brotherhood with them just like we do with our own guys.

As we work to expose hidden sin in our lives and drop DEPTH CHARGES on them, God has exposed a real fault in me, and that I have allowed in Disciple. We have at times spoken against and held grudges against other Christian organizations. We look down on them for one reason or another, for being rude to us, standing in our way, for what their patch looks like, for being an MM when we are an MC or just for plain incompetence. This is wrong. Prov 30:10 Do not slander a slave to his master, Or he will curse you and you will be found guilty. God doesn't like it when we bash other Christians. Even if they did us wrong in the past. And some have.  Time to move on.

Just as God forgives us and looks past our faults, we must do the same with other ministries. Not only must we drop all frustration anger and malice against them,  but we must pray for them,  their prosperity, and that their path before God be successful. God has different strokes for different folks,  and we may not be on the same stroke, but we are headed the same direction. Toward the cross.

Honor means being respectful, friendly and helpful to them,  building them up and finding ways to praise them. It does not mean having grudges in the MC tradition against them. They are not the Hatfields and we are not the McCoy's. The devil is,  and we must unite to fight him. We know the devil wants to splinter us,  so we must come together. We lose the respect of the secular world if we can't come together with the other Christians.

Honor means reaching out to them and asking how we can help them. Calling them and building the brotherhood with them just like we do with our own guys. Our goal is to build up men and reach 1‰ers. Rather than fly fishing by ourselves, it's time to sew our nets together with the other ministries and start truly multiplying the catch. Communicate with them. Share information, invite them to runs, show up at their runs just like we do 1% runs.

Trust me when I say they see us and know us.  And quite frankly they look up to us.  It's time to be an example of Christian unity, and show how it's done. It's time to be cool to Christians. Eventually they will come around. And if they dont: Prov 25:22 In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.
